Description
A nonacetylated nonsteroidal antiinflammatory agent; not effective as an anitpyretic; fewer GI effects than aspirin and has no affect on platelet function.
Indications
For treatment of rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, or related rheumatic disorder.
Contraindications
Absolute: ASA allergy
Relative: bleeding disorders, duodenal/gastric/peptic ulcer, stomatitis, SLE, ulcerative colitis, upper GI disease, late pregnancy (may cause premature closure of the ductus arteriosus)
