Description
Synthetic opiate agonist-antagonist analgesic combined with a semisynthetic opiate-receptor antagonist
Formulation is intended to prevent pentazocine misuse and abuse
One-sixth to one-third as potent as morphine
Indications
Indicated for the treatment of moderate pain to severe pain for which alternative treatments are inadequate.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity
Do not inject dissolved tablets
If prescribed for long-term use, take precautions to avoid increases in dose by the patient
